This is the fourth time you work for Akshay Kumar. So, when we got him on board, he wrote such magnificent lyrics, we were finally relieved that we got something of this quality. When Manoj Muntashir came, I know that this is the most passionate subject for him as a shaayar, as a poet, the subject of national pride and patriotism.
This composition was done a year back but the film took long time to be made as it's a big film. This is for your motherland and this has to be straight from the heart. The love in this has to be even more emotional than love you feel for a woman you love romantically, more emotional if you write something for your mother. Well, Akshay sir told me that whenever it's a love song, I think of calling you but this is something even more precious to me. How different was it to work on a song which expresses love towards the nation? You've always composed or sung romantic tracks. There are so many comments even from other countries, people have written so emotionally about the song. Manoj Muntashir, B Praak and I are overwhelmed with the response on Twitter and YouTube. In this case, this is the first song which is dedicated to my motherland and valour of the soldiers.
But primarily those were romantic songs from personal emotions. Earlier also, for many songs I've received a lot of love. What do you have to say about the great response Teri Mitti has received?
